Our uniform
Our school uniform is mandatory for every pupil.
The uniform is comfortable and practical, but more importantly gives a clear identity aligned with our new vision, creating a sense of belonging for all children. The uniform consists of a quarter zip jumper and crew neck T-shirt which are branded with our new logo.
Pupils will be able to wear black tracksuit bottoms/leggings/shorts and trainers with the mandatory items.
There will be a number of items that will not be permitted:
- Bottoms: Any other colour other than black tracksuit bottom/leggings/shorts are not permitted
- Headwear: baseball caps, beanies or balaclavas are not permitted
- Footwear: crocs, sandals, flip flops are not permitted
- Outerwear: oodies, hoodies, onesies and pyjamas are not permitted
Each pupil will be supplied with one t-shirt and one jumper (pictured below) free of charge, which will remove any financial burden this introduction may present.

Additional items (e.g. extra T-shirts or jumpers) can be purchased directly from TSS Print & Embroidery (Caerphilly:029 2086 9452 | Blackwood: 01495 825148 – www.tssprintandembroidery.com).
Our mobile phone policy
We operate a strict no mobile phone policy. Research clearly shows mobile phones are a disruption to learning and can be misused within school settings.
As per our Mobile Phone Policy, we will be operating a ‘gate to gate’ system whereby pupils hand in phones at the gate and collect them when leaving. Pupil phones will be kept in secure locked pouches (see below) and stored safely in the PRU premises. Any attempt to conceal mobile phones hidden within clothing will be quickly identified by a scanning detector.

All pupils are expected to adhere to this school policy. Our mobile phone policy clearly states pupils will not be permitted access to the school site without submitting their mobile phone. If your child refuses to co-operate at this stage, parents will be contacted to attend school and take the mobile phone home.
This policy is designed to work in partnership with you to support your child’s education and wellbeing.
